Dock Traffic Systems
Our Dock Traffic Systems enhance safety by providing clear communication between dock personnel and truck drivers with flashing red and green lights. The built-in eyebrow-type sun visors increase light visibility.
Economy Model (DTS-5)
The DTS-5 comes with two (2) yellow polypropylene traffic lights, each measuring 6-1/2"W x 11-1/2"H and featuring both green and red lenses. One light, containing a toggle switch, is placed inside the dock area for the dock attendant, and the other is placed outside for the truck driver. The package includes four (4) signs. The LED model eliminates the need for bulb replacements and is UL and cUL certified, dust and water resistant, and IP54 rated.
Deluxe Model (DTS-10)
The DTS-10 includes one (1) yellow aluminum traffic light with both a green and red lens for outside use and an illuminated push-button control for inside use. The light measures 14"W x 21-3/4"H and features an 8" hood over each lens, recommended for west and south exposure. This model includes incandescent lights and operates at 60 Watts, 115V AC. Four (4) procedure signs are included.
DTS-10 Sequence of Operation:
- When the dock is empty, the outside light is green and the inside light is red.
- After chocking the trailer's wheels, the truck driver presses the outside "CHOCKED" button, turning the outside light red and the inside light green.
- If the truck driver forgets to press the button, the dock attendant can press the "CHOCKED" button inside after confirming that the wheels are chocked (OSHA Standard 1910.178 sections (k)(1) and (m)(7) require wheel chocks).
- Once loading/unloading is complete, the dock attendant presses the "DEPART" button, signaling the truck driver to remove the chocks and pull away from the dock. This turns the outside light green and the inside light red.
